    Life on the Big Lake: History of the S.S. City of Milwaukee
    The S.S. City of Milwaukee was built by the Manitowac Shipbuilding Company out of Manitowac, WI. Her maiden voyage was on November 25, 1930. She was built to replace the S.S. Milwaukee that sank with all hands on October 22, 1929.   The S.S.City of Milwaukee rain under the Grand Trunk Railroad Company from 1930 until 1978 and then she started working for the Ann Harbor Rail Road Company, and she worked under those colors until 1981 when she retired from service.  During her 50 years of sailing
