85 years ago, we were born!

According to the November 25, 1930, issue of the Muskegon Chronicle, "A special train brought several hundred business executives, public officials and railroad men [from] Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan to [the Manitowoc Shipbuilding yards] to witness the launching...Following the launching, the Manitowoc Shipbuilding corporation was host to 300 guests at luncheon in the Hotel Manitowoc.  The 'City of Milwaukee' will make daily round trips between Milwaukee and Grand Haven until spring when its Michigan port will be Muskegon where a new carferry terminal and harbor developments are being completed."

From the book, S.S. City of Milwaukee, Art Chavez & Bob Strauss, Arcadia Publishing, 2011
