F.A.Q...

How does Fast Pass work?
We are selling Fast Pass tickets for all nights of Ghost Ship. You can purchase them here, or by going to the "Fast Pass Tickets" page on this website. After you purchase the tickets, there will be a paper ticket/receipt to print, or display on your phone. Make sure you bring it with you to Ghost Ship. We will have signage at the bottom of the gangway indicating the Fast Pass entrance.

Is it handicap accessible?

No. Unfortunately due to the ship's historic design, it is not ADA compliant.

Is parking free?

Yes! Parking is always free. However, it does get crowded on our busier nights. Please consider car-pooling when possible.

Can I take pictures or video while going through?

No. Cell phones have to stay in your pocket at all times. Pictures and video are not allowed while going through the attraction. But we WILL take pictures of you!! Bwahaha!

How much does it cost?

Kids 6 and under are free; $15 for everyone else. General Admission tickets are only purchased at the door, we accept both cash and card.

Do you have group rates?

Yes we do! For groups of 20+, paying together, please send us a message in advance and we will get you taken care of!

I went through and got too scared so I had to leave early, can I have a refund?

No. It sounds like we did our job! Plus, we do not offer refunds to anyone for any reason.

How long does it take to go through?

It depends on how scared you get! Usually about 20-30 minutes.

Is it worth the drive from (Traverse City, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Detroit, Ohio, etc)?

We might be a bit biased, but we certainly think so! We do our best and work incredibly hard to bring you the most unique haunted experience year after year, with every year being totally different than the year before. We have thousands of guests each year that travel 2-3+ hours to come experience Manistee's Ghost Ship, and we only hear good reviews as they are walking back down the gangway.

Can we touch the props?

For your safety and ours, we do not allow touching the props or actors. And they will not touch you.

When is it open?

Friday and Saturday nights in October, from 7:30-10:30pm. Plus, Sunday 10/26 from 7:30-10:00pm. And, Saturday 11/1 from 7:30-10:30pm.

Are you open if it rains?

You betcha! The majority of the Ghost Ship route is inside of the ship, however you will go out on the deck several times. Please dress for the weather, as the ship is not heated.

Is there anything I shouldn't wear or bring?

Yes. Please do not bring anything that you don't NEED. Please leave all large bags and loose clothing/accessories in your car. We do not allow any weapons, knives, or other sharp objects inside of the ship. Please wear appropriate shoes, no high heels, flip-flops, etc.

Is there an age restriction?

No, however we do not recommend anyone under 10 years old going through. We don't want to scar them...yet. There are intense themes, blood, gore, sudden actions by actors, professional animatronics, loud noises, and very low visibility. It is really up to the discretion of the parents.

Is it hard for seniors to go through?

It can be. There are high steps, low headways, and steep stairs aboard. This is not an attraction for everyone. However, generally those 75 years old and younger can make it through.

Is there a discount for going through twice in a night?

Yes. After you go through once, it is only $7 for each time after, within the same night.

Why Ghost Ship?

This is the largest fundraiser held by the Society for the Preservation of the S.S. City of Milwaukee, Inc. A 501(c)3 non-profit that operates and preserves the 1931 carferry as a museum ship. The ship is the last of her kind to still exist and is in great shape thanks to our group's preservation efforts over the last 40+ years. She is open during the summer for historic guided tours, overnight stays, museum, and as a event venue. Manistee's Ghost Ship was started in 2000 as an additional fundraisers and has now grown to one of the best haunted attractions in the state!
